As we speak, this pediatrician husband of mine (he has a way with kids, as demonstrated above) is finishing his final day of his SECOND intern year. We've gone through 4 years of medical school, lots and lots of debt, two big moves, countless overnight shifts, many weekends and holidays spent in the hospital, and some really tough decisions. And somehow I can truthfully say that the past few years have been the best of my life. Beau, thank you for the example you've given me of how to selflessly serve those around you. You spend 12-16 hours a day, 6 days a week tirelessly giving yourself to your patients, and somehow you still find the time and energy to make me feel loved. I'm so proud of who you are as a man and a physician and I couldn't feel luckier to be celebrating with you tonight! 2 intern years down, 5 years of marriage (as of next week!) under our belts, and so many more adventures to come!
We're off to Priest Lake in Northern Idaho to celebrate with a bunch of Beau's classmates. There will be lots of water sports, hiking, over-eating and being together without wifi or cell service. We're pumped.
Since we'll be fairly off the grid, the blog will be taking a break this week, resuming on July 5th (after the holiday). If you place an order this week, know that it'll be fulfilled as soon as we return.
Thanks for your patience and have a wonderful week, friends!
