The Constraints Collection
Sometimes, creating limits for yourself brings freedom. Constraints invite creativity. During this season of early motherhood, I’ve been working on quieting the noise in order to focus on what’s most important to me. I spent the month of October practicing presence, intentionality, and an overall pursuit of less. Less commitment to things that don’t serve me, less mindless scrolling on my phone, less clutter in my mind and in my home. As it turns out, in those stolen quiet moments, I realized that there was a body of work within me waiting to be made. This series of paintings was brought to life out of that spirit — of creating intentionally, thoughtfully, and by hand — for no other reason than the fact that making art brings me joy. I wrote more about the inspiration behind the paintings over on the blog if you’d like to know more. I’m so thrilled to be sharing this collection with you!
